Since its creation, Qwant has had several strategic partnerships essential to its growth and the deployment of the search engine. Technological sovereignty cannot be decreed. It is financed and built step by step.<\/p>\n

Since March 2020, Qwant & Huawei have been partners for a project with unique potential<\/a>. Huawei has teamed up with Qwant to offer our search engine on the HUAWEI P40 range in France Germany and Italy. At the time, it was an unprecedented consumer partnership between Huawei, the world technology leader, and Qwant, the European search engine that respects the privacy of its users. Together, we offered their users the best of mobile technology combined with online information search technology that respects personal data. Since then, Qwant has been increasingly installed as the default search engine in Huawei phones. This partnership is now taking a new step forward.<\/p>\n

The proposal made to Qwant’s shareholders at the general meeting on May 18 is not a new partnership. This is a continuation of our existing partnership. A very structuring partnership for Qwant and started in March 2020. This is a bond investment, and it is not an entry into the capital of Qwant. It is a vehicle for financing our expansion.<\/p>\n

Concretely, with its bond investment, Huawei is helping Qwant to develop and deploy on a European scale for all the brand’s new smartphones that will be put on the market in France, Germany and Italy.<\/p>\n

Word counts threefold: Win-win-win <\/strong><\/p>\n

Huawei accounts for 10-20% of the global smartphone market. Its devices are present in one pocket out of 5 or even one pocket out of 2 in the youngest. This is a unique opportunity to expand the Qwant community. Qwant is a winner! <\/strong><\/p>\n

Huawei is a key global player. The group recognizes the solidity of our technology and the reality of our project. The presence of Qwant is a guarantee of respect for privacy. Knowing that you have Qwant inside your mobile allows you to move forward with peace of mind. Huawei is a winner! <\/strong><\/p>\n

To do this, Qwant’s DNA remains unchanged. It resides today as yesterday in the respect of privacy and the minimization of the personal data of its users. Qwant naturally retains its privacy first positioning and allows everyone to guarantee their freedom of thought: no user tracking and no individualization of results, including advertising.<\/p>\n

Let it be said, any association or partnership entered into by Qwant with any third party can only be possible in strict compliance with what makes the raison d’\u00eatre of the Qwant search engine, namely the respect of the privacy of users and the non-collection of their personal data.
